Preschool (Ages: 4 – 6)
Developing Lifeskills, Self-Directed Learning, Academic Competencies
The Preschool curriculum adopts a cognitive and constructivist approach to learning. In the preschool years, expectations for holistic goals, development of life skills, learning dispositions and attitudes, as well as academic competencies are promoted through an integrated curriculum, complemented by an interactive skills curriculum; all of which are designed to cater for process-oriented learning and the acquisition of knowledge, concepts and skills.
Kindergarten 1
The curriculum for Kindergarten 1 is a process-oriented discipline that focuses on:
• Vocabulary and word skills
• Reading and writing
• Self-expression
• Math processes
• Social and community awareness
Kindergarten 2
With the child’s progress and advancement in language and numeracy skills, Kindergarten 2 children are encouraged to:
• Present and communicate their ideas
• Acquire knowledge on their own
• Develop independence, confidence and maturity
• Work collaboratively in groups
• Engage in creative and critical thinking
